Overview
FM Projects were engaged on a lump sum delivery to refurbish the Ainslie arts Centre and Gorman House
The work included minor demolition within both Ainslie Arts Centre and Gorman House as well as the removal of lead paint located with Ainslie Arts Centre. New music studios were constructed with Ainslie Arts Centre as well as the refurbishment of the hall which included state of the art lighting and sound facilities to allow stage productions. The Ralph Wilson theatre at Gorman House was refurbished, with new administration offices constructed, and new landscaping added
Key Challenges
A number key challengers were encountered on the project including working in buildings where heritage fabric was to maintained in all cases, noise and dust contained as the buildings were operational during the works
Staging and programming of the works were extremely important as the buildings were operational during the works and close liaison with the Building Manager was required throughout the works.
